The bill (Reg.
No. 8790), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, specifies the period of
duration under a new contract for the military servicemen in relation to their
category and length of service.
As the adopted law "On Judiciary and the Status of Judges" liquidates military courts, the bill amends the law "On Military Duty and Military Service", and invalidates the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada Presidium "On Military Ranks of Judges of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of Ukraine" of February 21, 1994 No. 3966-XII.
The committee members believe that adoption of the bill will prevent outflow of the most experienced and trained commissioned personnel from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
